A Detrended Price Oscillator is a technical analysis indicator used to analyze the price of a financial instrument. It is a type of momentum indicator that shows the relationship between two moving averages of a security's price, with the aim of identifying potential overbought and oversold conditions. The indicator is calculated by subtracting the longer-term moving average from the shorter-term moving average, and then plotting the resulting difference as a line on a chart. The idea behind the indicator is that when the line is above zero, the security's price is relatively high compared to its moving averages, and may be considered overbought.
