The Volatility Breakout pattern was a famed breakout pattern developed in the 80’s by Larry Williams. This was a legendary pattern he used to win the trading championship in the 87. Now the effectiveness and validity of the pattern has weakened since its inception. With after-day and overnight trading, the usual rate of gap ups and downs has been reduced tremendously since the advent of high frequency trading after 2000’s.However, this pattern still holds its value and its edge. Here goes its Formula.
