Corn basis bids steady-higher, soy steady-lower
Basis bids for corn shipped by barge to U.S. Gulf Coast terminals were steady-to-higher on Friday, while nearby soybean bids were generally steady, amid growing uncertainty over future Chinese export demand, traders said.
CIF Gulf soybean barges loaded in September were steady at 62 cents over CBOT November (SX25) futures; October barges were bid at 62 cents over futures, also steady from Thursday.
FOB export premiums for October-loaded soybeans were steady at 70 cents over futures.
CIF basis bids for October corn barges were up 4 cents at 82 cents over Chicago Board of Trade December (CZ25) futures.
FOB export premiums for October corn shipments were steady at 95 cents over futures.
