The previous (at least two) Earnings are followed by a much larger gap downwards with a low volume compared to the last one. This indicates a strong trend up, because the demand is much higher that before. Even the predicted earnings-short-trade didn’t pay off this time, cause by the huge demand. Also, the small price spread indicates huge transactions. If the down move is already over, then all those who are short and all swing-trader will buy. This can lead to strong up moves in the next days.

I made a mistake here and doesn’t look up the earnings. I closed the trade immediately right after I found out that this company will be bought by Salesforce (Ticker: CRM). I need to look up the philosophy of this company before I switch the position to this company.
