The last big correction known in this market was the one of 2014-2015 which occured after a beautiful bull run like we've had last year.
After this type of parabolic movement market needs to cool off and that's what happened before and that what's taking place today.
Of course, this is just a theory and history may not repeat itself but for now, it sure take this road :)
