Closed this near EOD today. Tomorrow is my last day to get out of positions that expire this week due to the holidays, and the action of AAPL today made it easy to decide.
The gap up was looking good and appeared to be a runaway gap around 10:15, but as the day progressed and it sold off it looks more like an exhaustion gap.
Filled @ 1.59, +64%
The reason I didn't close this at 10:30 is because the gap candle needed time to play out.
Cut your losses and let winners run
A viable strategy, given the same week options, would be to close a portion of the position on the run up this morning, knowing you would not be holding past tomorrow anyways.
I did not have this option due to travel.
