NEWBIE! Trying to understand patterns (BTC, OMG)

SO SUPER NEW!!! Don't devour me! I need a place to look back at my thoughts so I'm going to post my ideas as I learn. I know I still need to fill the gaps with my knowledge. Hopefully I can use this as a way to learn since I can look back on it later. Will I ever see this shit!? :)
Elliott Wave? Descending Triangle??
IF this is Elliott Wave spotted on BTC, (still not sure where to chart a, b and c's support level). I find it interesting that the 3rd leg coincides with OMG's first move. Makes sense since OMG wasn't old enough to include the first 2 legs? Should one consider moves from BTC when looking at OMG (or other coins)? Or should I look at each chart independently? Maybe I'm just overthinking this. It's hard to see patterns at this stage of learning. EVERYTHING looks like a pattern!
OMG corrective period is holding support very nicely IF it's working with BTC's EW. OR, is this independent of the EW spotted on BTC and instead OMG forming a descending triangle?
How far will BTC come down and how will OMG play out considering BTC leg C is not complete yet?

Does anyone have any suggestions for good reading material to start with?
