How to view the 24 hour market and overnight trading sessions
For BOATS-supported US stocks, TradingView brings regular, extended hours, and overnight trading data together in a single 24/5 intraday chart. You no longer need a separate symbol to follow price action when the overnight stock market is active outside the main exchange session.

What the 24h session combines
The 24 hour trading feature merges multiple sessions to give you a complete view of the market:
- Regular trading hours (RTH): The standard exchange session.
- Extended hours (ETH): Pre-market and after hours (post-market) activity. This is essential for monitoring extended hours trading.
- Overnight session: Price action outside RTH and ETH, capturing the true 24 hour market. Previously, this overnight data was only available through separate BOATS symbols.
Note: Session data may not be active during a non trading day.
Trading periods are visually separated on the chart, so you can clearly see where the overnight markets begin and end without breaking the continuity of the price series.
Turn on the 24h session
- Open the symbol on a chart and make sure an intraday chart interval is selected.
- Right-click the chart and open Settings.
- Go to the Symbol tab and select 24h under Session.
- Click OK to apply.
Alternatively, use the session toggle button in the bottom toolbar of the chart to switch directly between regular, extended hours, and 24h sessions without opening Settings.
What you can do with overnight data
- Analyze it like any other session: Drawing tools, indicators, and other chart analysis features work directly on the 24h intraday series.
- See the current market phase: The interface shows whether a symbol is in regular trading, pre-market, after hours, or the overnight session, along with the last sale price and change during overnight trading hours.
- Check availability on symbol pages: Symbol pages and Details show whether 24h data is available and the current session status.
- Monitor it from watchlists: Watchlists can display overnight stock prices without requiring you to open a separate overnight-specific symbol.
- Set alerts on the 24h chart: Alerts can track price movements that happen outside regular trading hours, keeping you updated on the 24 hours stock market.
24h session support extends beyond the chart — on symbol pages and in Details, you can see whether 24h data is available, check the current session, and follow overnight price movement directly alongside the instrument.
