The HighPass-LowPass Roofing Filter was created by John Ehlers (Cycle Analytics For Traders pg78) and this is a variation of a roofing filter that will let you know which direction the stock is trending. If it falls below 0 then the stock is in a downtrend and if it rises above 0 then it is an uptrend. Buy when the indicator line is green and sell when it is red.

Do you think it is worth reading the books to know how the indicators should be applied?
Or is it enough to just take the indicators and start applying and see what happens?

@salvabello, thank you! Ehlers work in my opinion is severely underrated and I would highly recommend reading his books. His indicators are so unique compared to everything else out there. I have a bunch of Ehlers indicators ready to be published that aren't on this website yet so look out for many more cool ehlers indicators!
