This indicator was originally developed by brazilian technical analyst Odir "Didi" Aguiar. Also known as "Didi Needles". Consider it as a brazilian MACD.

Alex, not sure how much you know about Didi trading system, of which the indicator he created is just one of a number of other popular available indicators (ADX, SlowStoch, Trix and Bollinger) that are used in his simple rule-based system. If you don't know much about it, it is very worth looking into it, even though most information available on it is in Portuguese.
